Lupe Fiasco is kicking off Acura Grand Prix weekend in Long Beach, California, with a headlining performance April 17 at the event's Friday Night Concert.
It’s set to take place around 6:30 p.m. local time outside the Long Beach Terrace Theater and is free of charge for those attending the Grand Prix that day.
"We're thrilled to welcome Lupe Fiasco to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach for our Friday Concert Presented by Acura," Jim Liaw, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, said in a press release. "He's an extraordinary artist with a dynamic stage presence, and this performance will be an exciting way for fans to finish off a great day of racing, entertainment and the Long Beach lifestyle."
Lupe also expressed excitement in his statement.
“I’ve always been a fan of racing and car culture, so I’m happy to be a part of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach,” he said.
Lupe is set to head on the road in May as part of his Food & Liquor 20th Anniversary Tour, in celebration of his 2006 album. It runs from May 14 to June 11 with six cities on the schedule.
