Kwn is a progressive R&B artist combining candid lyricism and heartfelt vocal performances with sinuous productions. A native of East London, she arrived on the highly regarded Black Butter label in 2022 with Episode Wn, an EP featuring the slow jam "Sweetie," a collaboration with Scribz Riley. Soon affiliated with Sony Music, Kwn made her major-label debut in 2024 with "Eyes Wide Open," and then linked with Kehlani, heard on "Clothes Off," followed by a steamy duet version of Kwn's own "Worst Behaviour." The assertive 2025 single "Do What I Say" quickly became another one of Kwn's singles to reach seven-digit streaming figures.
Born Khy Wilson, Kwn originally went by the name K1 before she opted to change the spelling (while retaining the pronunciation). A major turning point for her occurred at the age of 16, when she enrolled at East London Arts and Music, near her hometown of Walthamstow. She developed her talent at the academy, and in 2022 made her label debut on Black Butter with "Wn Way or Another." The discontented ballad was the first preview of Episode Wn, her debut EP, issued that November. Additional strides were made in 2023 and 2024 with singles such as "No Cinderella," "Five More," and "Eyes Wide Open," the last of which was her first single through Sony Music. Additionally, she co-wrote and was featured on Kehlani's "Clothes Off." Soon after that collaboration raised her profile considerably, Kwn delivered "Worst Behaviour," her biggest solo single to that point. Kehlani appeared on a subsequent version that landed on Valentine's Day 2025. Within a couple months, Kwn was back with "Do What I Say." ~ Andy Kellman
