“Can we get much higher?” *cue Kanye West’s “Dark Fantasy”*
Well we actually can if we're talking about Chris Bosh's No. 1 jersey. The former Heat player was honored in a ceremony at the AmericanAirlines Arena Tuesday night during halftime against the Orlando Magic.
Bosh, his family, and fans alike witnessed a jersey bearing his name rise into the rafters of the arena, joining other former Heat players, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neal, and Tim Hardaway. He’s the fourth player to have his jersey retired by the Heat.
He also didn’t leave empty handed. He was presented with a $50,000 gift to his foundation and a personalized guitar made by Rey Jeffet, Jr.
What would a retirement ceremony be without the social media shoutouts? Lebron James among others showed their love on Twitter.
Bosh was forced to end his 13-year career in 2016 after a blood cloth health scare in 2015. The ceremony comes three years after his retirement.
